I ordered salted fish fried rice and seafood chow mien for Christmas party 2024. We are very pleased with this order. These dishes are outstanding. Prices are reasonable. Thanks much.
I was in the area and I was Looking for banh mi restaurant. I Yelped of course and found Dakao. I ordered number 1 with ham, head cheese and pickled daikon and carrots. Not all banh mi restaurant had this banh mi. It's my favorite since the first time I ate banh mi. If the restaurant do not have this type, I will not go. I always check the menu first. Anyways I ordered #1 with extra pate and jalapeños. I took it with me so I can eat it while I sat in the traffic going back to our office in Oakland. I really enjoyed it. You can tell from the crumbs on my shirt, pants and seat! Lol. I also have to drink soy bean milk whenever I eat banh mi. The service was fast and the price was not bad. $6 plus $.50 for the extra pate. Come by and check them out, I know I will.
You don't just find banh mi restaurants like these around anywhere. It's located within a nice local plaza. I believe it's a mom and pop shop owned, the store seems filled with food items but it's actually very organized. The sandwiches are the main reason why you're here. The service and delivery were quick, the quality is amazing. I swear I could have 2-3 of these in one sitting!
This is my favorite place to get banh mi. The pork banh mi is the best, the others are also good but I haven't tried the vegetarian one. The place is a small Mom & Pop shop, and service is quick. Cash only
I've been coming here for many years, and despite the slight changes in price, the quality has consistently been impressive. The BBQ beef banh mi is absolutely divine, with a sauce that stands out among other Vietnamese sandwich shops, even if the meat portion could be a bit more generous. The rice and noodle dishes are satisfying and well-portioned. As a family-owned gem, they operate on a cash-only basis, but the variety of side dishes and snacks available at the counter more than make up for it. I'm grateful for this wonderful place and look forward to many more visits!
Quality/Quantity - We have a tight schedule full of appointments today, so only shopping at quick or self-service businesses today. Grabbed a roasted and shredded chicken sandwich - The roasted one had more flavor. Small hot food ready to-go deli, see picture. Simple menu done well. Catering available. Atmosphere - Small mom and pop business. The husband seemed happier than his wife, but everyone seemed to be working hard. Plenty of indoor seating, as most people buy to-go. Open 7 days a week from 6am to 6pm; Yelp hours differ slightly. Plenty of mall parking. Service - No nonsense. Take your order, tell you to wait aside or take a seat. Then they will call you when your order is ready. Simple and quick. The only confusion was that I was following the "arrows" on the floor to get in "line." But everyone else went in a different direction...? So should I NOT be following the arrows? I was in a hurry, but not so much as to cut in line. Price - $6 each (including tax), $12 cash only. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success for 20+ years and for your two locations...?
Found another good spot for quick Vietnamese grabs, although we only tried their Vietnamese sandwiches this time, I'd try some of their other offerings. Very small hole in the wall kind of mom and pops shop that is littered with a bunch of stuff that almost makes you think it's one of those California "bodegas". Family oriented and neighborhood store where you can tell that this place is visited by regulars on a weekly, if not daily, basis. CASH ONLY! But they will accept Venmo or Zelle. Banh Mi were good, although I felt like there was some more vinegar usage than I'm used to. Still, well made classics that you can not go wrong with ordering. And the pricing gives you good value. Simple service. Nothing special, but just keeping in tune with the California "bodega". Ample parking in the lot.
Order banh mi sandwich place an order and pick it up nice little spot play your Lottery tickets while getting your banh mi the sandwich was nice and fresh and the bread was nice and crispy fluffy and fresh. Cash and Venmo only
I do love me a good banh mi'! At $5.50 I am so down! There was a time when these puppies were only a buck! A banh mi' is a Vietnamese sandwich filled with a variety of proteins that include ham or steamed pork roll. The veggies: sliced cucumber, pickled carrot & daikon. Throw in some cilantro, chili or jalapeño. Oh, u can also add pâté, butter, mayonnaise or soy sauce. Stumbled upon this place when we discovered R&B Tea a few weeks ago. The OG "Dakao Sandwiches I" is located in San Jose but closed a while back. This one in Milpitas is "Dakao Sandwiches II" (I guess it's like the sequel). Is it good? Yes, I will say it is tasty... for that price u can't beat it! I think it'll satisfy your cravings and you can even get a second one for later and not feel as guilty with the price. My only thing is depending on what day I go, they run outta bread. Cause of that, I was like "damn it must be good!" Again, it's a great banh mi' but there are places all over Milpitas and SJ with superior banh mi loaded with more meat and veggies that's almost double the size! You'd be looking at 7-10 bucks for one of those. Dakao Banh Mi's are definitely worth trying, it felt a little under sized but the price makes up for it. Will I be back? Been there twice already in a week lol. Wherever u get a Vietnamese sandwich, enjoy it! It's an amazing sandwich! I highly recommend the grilled pork banh mi, the ham & pate, oh and the beef banh mi!
